wishful thursday.

I am a day late in playing along in Kelsey's weekly edition of Wishful Wednesday-- but I thought I'd give it a go anyhow! This week her WW thought is... "If I could relive something over and over and over it would be......" and you know what? I feel so blessed that I could answer this question in so many ways. I decided to go the not-so-sentimental route and go with our fun travel adventures. Kevin and I went on several great trips before we had Carson, and we've continued to travel with our little guy. I guess I don't wish that I could relive each vacation, but that my family can continue to travel to fun, beautiful, special places-- make memories, see new things, try great food... that's my little wish for the week.

How about a recap of some of our favorite vacay's from the past five-ish years together?

Parasailing in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - Summer 2005
Mexico is just not my favorite. We stayed at a beautiful resort... but you can't go in the water, it's too rough. You have that underlying fear of watching what you're eating so you don't get Montezuma's revenge... and there's just something unsettling about being offered drugs while you walk to dinner, being bombarded by random people offering random things when you get off the plane... I don't know, maybe it's just me and my stuffy American ways, but Mexico is just not for me. I could be just fine never, ever going back. But honey, if you're reading this. Our trip was lovely.

@ the Swarovski Star in New York City at Christmas - December 2005
We had both been to NYC a few times, but never at Christmas... and my oh my, is it such a lovely time to go! The first snowfall of the season happened while we were there. The tree at Rockefeller Center became the backdrop for our Christmas Card, we ate one of the most fabulous dinners I've ever had at Tao, and just had a magical time. I love, love, love trips to NYC... I could go again and again and never tire of visiting that city!

Heaven on Earth- Maui, Hawaii - Spring 2006
Is there a place more beautiful on this Earth? I've yet to see it. I absolutely LOVE Hawaii so, so, so much. You feel like you are far, far away in a beautiful, magical, enchanting place... but with all of the luxuries and comforts of home, because it's still AMERICA! Truly, my dream destination. We ate some of the most unbelievable meals of my life on this trip... I researched the best restaurants for months. Can you tell I love food and travel combined?! We ziplined through the Hawaiian rainforests, we snorkeled, we got couples massages, we ate at Cheeseburger in Paradise EVERY day for lunch (best coconut shrimp in the land)... it was truly the best trip we've ever taken. Honey, if you're still reading.... you can take our family to Maui any day, any time.

Babymoon in Vail, Colorado - Summer 2007
We've taken many a trip to Colorado in our time together... my personal favorite time to go is during NON ski season. I love Colorado... but I don't like to be cold. So, Spring & Summer is my favorite time to get away to the mountains... call me crazy! My all time favorite place to visit is Vail. I love Vail. I'd brave the cold winters if it meant we could move there. It's a wonderful little town... and made for a fabulous last getaway before our angel baby arrived in October of that year.

First Family Vacation to San Diego/Coronado Island - Spring 2008
Carson's first family vacation... to sunny San Diego & the beautiful Coronado Island. Another wonderful place to be! We actually went over Easter weekend, not realizing when we booked our trip that Easter fell at the end of March that year. Oh well! We spent Easter Sunday visiting my mom's mom's grave in Oceanside, California... drove past the house my mom's dad grew up in, in Carlsbad... had more amazing meals... let our chunky monkey dip his toes in the ocean for the very first time... and began making vacation memories as a family!

Family & Friends Scottsdale, Arizona - Summer 2009
... and as of late, we recently got back from a Labor Day weekend getaway to Scottsdale with our friends from California. It was another wonderful trip-- sun, shopping, great villa that allowed us all to stay under one roof... and more wonderful memories made! Who could ask for anything more?

Hope you enjoyed this little walk down vacation lane with me... suffice it to say, if the holidays weren't five minutes away, combined with the fact that we'll be moving into a new home in the next month or so... I don't see another vacation in 2009 for the Tichenor family. But, I am sure we can manage another getaway before Numero Dos arrives in June! Any suggestions on YOUR favorite places to travel? We've been wanting to do an East Coast/Maine/Lobster Fest type trip for a while now... I'd love your thoughts and ideas!

Hubby flies home in a few hours... hooray!

Have a blessed weekend. I'll mini post tomorrow, but we'll be in the car for 6 hours driving to Fab Ab! Can't wait to see my beautiful sister, her sweet hubby, have Erin take our family photos, and eat the most incredible filet ever to touch my lips at the one and only Perini Ranch!

love y'all.

mcflurry.

Today...

We met the Groovy DeLonghcamp ladies for a yummy lunch at PF Chang's, headed to the mall for some shopping, came home and unsuccessfully attempted napping, went back to the mall to exchange a grey Polo sweater for a black Polo sweater (family photos Saturday)... and about that time, five o'clock-ish, I started feeling shaky, jittery, faint... I realized I had not eaten since our 11:30 lunch and my baby, although the size of a lentil bean this week, was ready for calories. I wasn't ready for dinner... just needed a treat. I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever had a McFlurry-- but I *needed* to have one this evening... so we headed to McDonald's... $5.20 later, two M&M McFlurry's in hand, we drove home for the day.

Let me just state for the record that Carson is going to think, when it's all said and done, that having a pregnant mommy IS THE BEST!

I just uploaded the pictures from my iPhone this evening, and apparently hadn't done so in a few weeks... there were still pics on there from Alabama... so enjoy and iPhoto recap of Mr. C's happenings the past couple weeks!

Last week, we went over to JiJi & Pop Pop's early in the morning to lounge and hang out... we caught Pop Pop pulling out of the driveway for work. He jumped out of his truck and came back inside to give Carson a special little present he had for him. A mini golfbag, with a toddler sized golf-club, a candy filled golfclub that belonged to my Pappa, his Dad (the jellybeans are seriously 20+ years old) and some of Pop Pop's old golf balls. Carson LOVES it!

Here's my precious little guy getting his haircut before his birthday party a couple of weeks ago... such a handsome little man.

Hey, whaddya know... more suckers?! Only this time, he was at the doctor, awaiting 3 shots. Well deserved.

This is a little fuzzy, as it was an action shot. Below you will see a photo of Carson, Big Brother to be, using "baby Blaire's head" to bang against the window to get a "yucky buggy" off the window (it was on the outside of the car window). He was successful in his mission. Damage to Baby Blaire's skull unknown. We have some work to do before June.

Hope you all had a wonderful day... we are so excited to head to Abilene on Friday!

Seriously, these pumpkins...

you can be jealous.

I have some really awesome new bracelets that you are welcome to covet. I am sure most of you know that grey is really "in" right now... so it should come as no surprise that I jumped on the trend train and have gotten not one, but two grey Sea Bands. Mmmhmm, they are really attractive, really comfortable... you know you want a pair.

I mean, really... they even have a fancy white knob on the back that digs into your tendon... what's not to love?

Also, keeping with the grey trend... I have created a nausea/dry-heave mask out of one of my hubby's grey cotton t-shirts. To create this look you must first have ridiculous, off the charts nausea, complete with dry-heaving at the slightest unpleasant smell, a toddler that poops at least once a day, thus the necessity to get up close and personal with his business, inducing severe gagging & dry-heaving. If this is YOU, then fear not. Pop a piece of extra strong minty gum in your mouth, tie your hubby's tee tightly around your head-- emphasis on TIGHT around your nose. Breath in and out slowly and only through your minty mouth and change your toddlers diaper so fast you could surely win a diaper changing marathon.

On a bright note... I actually feel MUCH better today than I have in days passed, thank you Lord. We spent over two hours at the park having a picnic and playing with some very sweet mama's and friends. A quick trip to Target, some computer time, complete with a new Craigslist posting, but you can read about that over at Misc Mer, and we have a bag packed to head to JiJi & Pop Pop's to make my famous & fabulous homemade enchiladas tonight... it's been a MUCH better day!

Hope you are having an equally blessed, but much less nauseous week than us, me!

P.S. Pretend there aren't any pumpkins in my blog signature, k?

halloween.

Poor Carson, we probably had the lamest Halloween known to mankind all thanks to his super sick mama. We were supposed to go to a party before Trick-or-Treating... Carson and I slept right through it. Close to 6pm, we finally rolled out of bed, slapped what ended up being a sort-of lame costume on my sweet boy and headed over to my parent's house to let him trick-or-treat down their street.
Here's a few pictures of our lame-o Halloween... complete with Carson's amazing JiJi dressed up as Ruby to compliment her grandson's Max costume. For those of you that don't have toddlers... they were Max & Ruby, a precious little cartoon on Nick Jr. that Carson just adores. Max's costume left a lot to be desired, and Ruby's costume was a tad bid frightening.

Max & Ruby.... Ruby & Max!

Anyhow, his costume wasn't my best effort... he only trick-or-treated at my parent's front door... and although I bought all the stuff for a super cute costume, it was all I could do to roll out of bed and be present on Halloween-- much less dress up for the occasion.

Mr. C had no interest in TOT-ing, he wanted to look at the neighbors yard decorations-- but that was all.

JiJi taught him how to "eat" the candy corn...

He pretty much set up camp in my parents kitchen, surrounded by mashed potatoes, candy, and 3 or 4 beverages.

You'll be shocked to know that I felt so wonderful that I didn't care at all that we couldn't convince him to go door-to-door. He did enjoy opening their door for other kids.

Okay, I PROMISE I am not turning into Debbie Downer... thank you all for your tips and tricks on how to alleviate the morning... ALL DAY sickness I am experiencing. I am taking B6, drinking the teas, and thanks to an early run to CVS this morning, I am now the proud owner of two sexy Sea Bands. I am doing all that I can naturally before I have to call the doctor for a prescription. Here's hoping!

Oh, and I decided to give it my Girl Scout's best and blog every day this month in the NaBloPoMo!

Alright, Jacci & I are off to Homegoods... love y'all.

blah.

Y'all... I have spent nearly the entire weekend in my bed. I am nauseated beyond my wildest dreams. Baby Number 2 is already giving me a run for my money... my mom told me it was # 3 that turned your world upside down.

I was no where NEAR nauseous like this with Carson. In fact, I tell people all the time how great I felt during my pregnancy. Sure, I had my moments... I worked full time, would come home at the end of the day exhausted, hungry, and crawl right into bed... but this has hit me like a ton of bricks. I feel sick when I wake up, I feel sick a few hours later, I feel sick in the evening, I feel sick at night. Nothing but sleeping makes me feel better and I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO?!

I have Preggie Pops, I have Mother-to-Be tea, I have a really sweet husband that has become Mr. Mom all weekend... BUT he's going to leave and go to work, and then I have to take care of our toddler. No more crawling into bed for me.

So help... is there anything out there I don't know about that can help me feel better?

life is good today.

Hello lovelies. Hope you are all having a wonderful week.

Have I thanked you yet for your sweet, sweet comments on Baby #2 and Birthday Party #2? You're the best.

This post is going to bounce all over the place, so brace yourself.

Want to see proof that we need to transition C-Man into a big boy bed, nevermind the fact that he has a sibling on the way? I just so happened to have my camera in hand after his bath last night... and while I rustled around getting things situated in his room for bedtime, he attempted a jail break.
These pictures also prove that he was MOST impressed with his climbing abilities and not the least bit concerned about a free fall... BOYS!
This morning, my sweet friend Ambre had Jacci & I over for breakfast and playtime. The kiddos had fun... we enjoyed yummy blueberry muffins, homemade pumpkin bread and fresh fruit. It's so much fun having other sweet mama's to spend time with. And... we're so excited that we'll be having a little one in 2010. Baby Boy DeLongchamp and Tichenor Baby #2 will be just 4 months apart!
Later today, Carson had his 2 Year Checkup... poor baby, he doesn't miss a thing. As soon as we checked into the doctor's office and they called us back, he started crying. No one had even touched him yet... but he KNEW what was coming. So after tears through being weighed, measured, listened to, checked out, etc... came the three shots & swine flu mist! That really did him in. I was, however, quite thankful that they had vaccines to give him for both seasonal flu and swine flu! We're hoping to avoid that in the Tichenor casa this season. How about some 2 year old stats? CT weighs 28 pounds, 2 ounces (50th percentile); he's 35 inches tall (75 percentile); and his head that holds his giant genius brain puts him in the 95th percentile. If you ask me, he's just perfect as can be.

Thanks, in large part to the doctor's office meltdown/immunization fest we had... Carson took a great afternoon nap, so I GOT TO NAP TOO! Exhaustion is one of my greatest pregnancy woes. Ahhh, we both woke up refreshed and treated ourselves to Lopez for dinner. Mmm, so yummy!

We're looking forward to Halloween this weekend-- Mr. C should be pretty cute in his costume, and will no doubt have a blast going door-to-door for TREATS! Then next weekend, we head to Abilene to stay with Megan & Jesse and have our family photos done with the lovely and talented Erin of eephotography! I'm still putting our outfits together, but I'm thinking that my to Anthropologie with the Hall ladies this Friday should help seal the deal on my end!

Okay, last but not least are some precious pictures of my two year old lovebug in his new dinosaur pajama's. I really don't know if there's anything cuter than a toddler in one-piece jammies! I just love it, it makes me giggle. And Carson is so funny, he always says "where my feet go?"
REALLY?!!! Could he be any more precious to me? I just adore him with all my heart & soul.
Love you sweet readers... hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!
